For me Jivamukti Yoga is about building the community. And about connecting with like minded people all over the world.
I was born in Russia and have been practicing yoga since 2005.
In 2014 I did my 300 Hour Jivamukti teacher training in the US. Since then I have been teaching in Russia, Germany and The Netherlands and have been deepening my own practice and teachings with the leading teachers of the method such as Jules Febre (US), Yogeswari (US) and many others.
In 2018 I have completed the 800 Hour Jivamukti Apprenticeship Program with Jules Febre, who has been always an inspiration for me with his open mindedness, humor and curiosity, sequencing, alignment and connecting yoga philosophy with everyday life.
I am trained in Body Reading with Anatomy Trains ®, Yin Yoga with Biff Mithoefer (US) and get inspiration from alignment-based teachings of Alison West (US).
Anna is a 800 Hour Jivamukti ® Yoga Certified teacher.
My grandmother was an Amsterdam based yoga teacher, but as a child I only found it very funny her doing all these pretzel-like poses. Little did I know that in 2002 I would find my own way to yoga.
In 2016 I felt it was time to do my Jivamukti Yoga teacher training in India. Some call Jivamukti Yoga the punk rock of yoga. And I agree. At its core there’s pure spiritual activism, integrated into strong, creative āsana classes, with a focus on the ancient yoga teachings/philosophy.
I bow down to my dear teachers Sharon Gannon< David Life, Judith Hanson Lasater and my amazing mentor Emma Henry. David Life just says it all: “ Yoga is not for people interested in staying the same”.
And then there’s always the Beastie Boys to remind us: “I’ve never been more ready in my entire life to do this right now. Never” (from Alive).
Sharon is a 300 Hour Jivamukti® Yoga Certified teacher and 30 Hour Restorative Yoga teacher (Teacher training with Judith Hanson Lasater and Lizzie Lasater).
I am a Jivamukti yoga teacher, vegan chef and animal rights activist. And travel the world to teach Jivamukti Yoga, spreading the word for the animals. Besides dedicating myself to several animal rights projects, I run my own vegan cheese company: GOPAL VEGAN CHEESE & have a podcast: Go for your life. I started teaching in Sydney Australia 7 years ago. Since then I have taught internationally. I also ran my own vegan cafe in Lisbon for four years where I taught weekly classes. This year I started my own food, yoga and activism tour. Traveling all over Europe (and the US) all through 2020. My classes are strong, fun, dynamic and energetic. With a smashing play-list. An with teachings drawn from my own life experience and work as an animal rights activist. www.karotak.com
